Wayne is an Associate of the Practice with a wide range of experience in all aspects of building services. These range from cost focused commercial air conditioning designs for design-build contractors, to high quality telecommunications and health care facilities. Wayne attained a solid grounding in building services during 13 years at the Ministry of Works in Dunedin and has enjoyed more than 20 years as a Mechanical Engineer at Powell Fenwick Consultants.

Interests
Keen sports follower, including rugby, soccer and cricket. Played representative cricket for Otago in late seventies. Enjoys running, mountain biking and swimming to keep fit. Loves travel and reading. Wayne is also a capable freelance travel writer.

Civic Chambers Christchurch
Specialised HVAC design for Christchurch City Council’s new flagship headquarters. Building incorporates floor-fed displacement ventilation, tri-generation plant, the use of biogas reclaimed from landfill. The 6-star Greenstar building is New Zealand’s highest rated green building. Wayne was responsible for planning the plant rooms and ducting and pipework systems for the building.
Wainoni Pak N Save
All mechanical and water services for Christchurch’s largest Pak N Save supermarket. Involved HVAC including several specialised ventilation systems and heat recovery off the refrigeration rack to preheat heating air and domestic hot water services.
Bidwill Hospital, Timaru
Major extension to existing private hospital including new and reconfigured theatres, recovery rooms, day surgery and admin areas. A key driver in the design was the project’s construction in multiple stages to ensure the hospital remained functional throughout.
Dunedin Courthouse Redevelopment
Involving displacement ventilation system for the court rooms and specialised heritage and judicial requirements.
St Georges Hospital
New three storey ward and clinical services block incorporating four 'state of the art' operating theatres.
